Inside, Outside, Upside Down.


 

Let’s start by agreeing the world is upside down and we continue to look outside for the answers. We are inundated with information day in and day out and the information is growing exponentially like no other time. If you’re feeling more exhausted than ever, more confused and foggy, struggling to take action in a world where you used to #getshitdone -

it’s not you, you’ve been set up.

Let’s talk today about both the reality of our current day and a world where you wake up, peaceful, clear and in inspired action living your best life.

Before we get too far in, let me assure you that while some of this may sound like doom and gloom, there is a way out and it’s before the end of this post so keep reading and stand in hope and excitement with new tools to hack the systems they’ve been selling.

Not too long ago we were in the depths of hustle culture, a masculine energized reality where success appeared as simple as a solid plan, well executed. While I will still passionately teach mastering your calendar and doing the things you said you’d do, this extremely rigid masculan reality can no longer sustain us as big thinkers, change makers, badass creatives.

We are being called to balance, feminine flow and fulfillment.

Let’s first be reminded that our human bodies have been around for millions of years, and while you can now drive a car with a new operating system simply by plugging in your Tesla and setting up the app to reboot, our human bodies aren’t the same. We were created in a time where there were no clothing stores, mirrors, roads, cars, let alone likes, shares, algorithms or tiktok, reels etc. We were wired to sense danger for protection (from a saber tooth tiger), to be a part of a community (hunter, gatherer, babies and fire style) to ensure we have the awareness to feel safe and be soothed. Take that OG body wandering looking for food, running water and dodging wild animals and drop it in 2023.

Today that same system, that operated very well in a simpler time, is juggling non-stop noise. Today we are long passed caveman days, however there are still very deep systems in place that the world wants us to follow. Think programming that looks like train factory workers, to show up on time and do as they are told. For generations the norm was the 9-5 job, planning for retirement, a home in the burbs, 2 kids and they wrapped it with a bow called “living the dream”.  Who’s dream? We have started to question that BIG TIME and more than ever since the world closed down March 2020.

So here we are seeing more possible, chasing inspired living, being the change they want to see in the world, having conscious relationships, launching new businesses, creating passive income, attracting enough money to have it all, inundated with everyone telling you THE way -

it’s NO WONDER WE ARE SHORT CIRCUITING!

You may be asking “ok well yes but social media has been around 15+ years and I’m only just feeling this exhausted the last year or two”. 

Perfect awareness and absolutely correct.

Let’s look at that. Yes social media launched in and around 2007 (in my world at least - hello baby photos on facebook) and yes this new found exhaustion and overwhelm seems to have landed here in the last couple of years (or hey maybe you’re just noticing it in the last few weeks or months). Well, like anything being sold in a world where they want us to keep their systems alive, if it isn’t working they try harder. So yes social media has been around for some time, however notice the shift in how it works, what you’re seeing and most importantly how you’re feeling.

Now I can definitely dive deeper into social media and its use and even how to have it serve you in some of the most brilliant ways today I want to have you feel seen in your exhaustion and overwhelm and see access to stepping out of it to start waking up energized, clear and fulfilled. Knowing that you are physically designed for a world that once existed, not the world we live in today. Knowing that social media has been around a while but in the last few years (and continually) is changing to have you feeling more and more disconnected is the access to what you truly want and the life you’ve been sold as freedom.

When we see things clearer, when we access awareness, we can interrupt and pivot.

I titled this blog Inside, Outside, Upside Down as that’s exactly what we want to look at. We have clearly agreed the world is upside down, and also can see how outside of us is all that is contributing to the overwhelm of a beautifully created body that was designed lifetimes ago. So let’s dive in to the access to something new, to all the magic, all the bliss, all the fuck yesss living.

The inside.

The last place we have been taught to look for what we want is inside.  Again by design the world wants us focused outward to maintain the chaos where they sell you the next step THEY want for their plan.  Going inside threatens that more than anything. Going inside allows you to reconnect with who you are and why you’re here.  When you’re deeply connected inward you can breathe deeply, confidently trusting who you are and why you are here.

We are all here divinely created and play a beautiful role in a plan far bigger than any of us can ever fathom. Outside, we build their plan. Inside, we peacefully serve our highest purpose and His plan.

Below are some amazing simple tools to practice allowing you to learn the beauty within.

Consider yourself someone who has the tools to go inward?

Take a look at the list below and ask yourself when was the last time you made time to go inward, how could you create deeper daily habits, do you have the tools to take your inner knowing and live it fully in the world?

Going Inward.

Meditation - guided or unguided.

Movement - walking, running, lifting weights, riding your bike.

Writing - grab a journal, start a blog, dump your thoughts and let it flow.

Breathwork - connect to your breath, start with a simple rotation of in for 4, hold for 7, out for 8 repeated 4 times morning and night, enjoy your favorite Breathwork practice.

Nature - ground yourself barefoot in the grass, wander in the woods, hug a tree.

Phone on airplane - start with 15 minute and work your way up.

Life is a balance of feminine and masculine energy, and while we have been thriving in a very masculine focused “information age”, hustle culture, times are changing and if you are here breathing deeper simply after reading that what you’re feeling is normal, perfect! You are being called to enjoy the beauty of balance and incorporating the beautiful flow and feminine that arises when we turn inward and allow connection to our deepest truth and purpose.
